Liquid Fuel Generator Sets refer to the power generation device that uses combustible liquid as fuels to drive alternator with the internal combustion engine as prime mover, and convert mechanical energy into electrical energy. It is composed by of Liquid fuel engine, alternator and control system.
Liquid fuels including liquid fossil fuels, liquid biofuels, Liquid synthetic fuels and other pyrolysis oil, refers to any liquid (or liquefiable) substance that can be burnt to produce heat or power. Our generator sets can burn Diesel fuels, Heavy fuel oil, Crude oil, liquid biofuels and pyrolysis oil. Classification of Liquid Fuel Generator Sets:
1. According to the different fuels used, they can be classified into the following common categories:
■ Diesel Generator Sets, It can be divided into three categories based on their usage location: Stationary diesel generator sets, Mobile diesel generator sets, and Marine diesel generator sets, wherein the Stationary diesel generator sets include Open frame generator sets and Enclosed generator sets.
■ Heavy Fuel Oil Generator Sets, including Stationary heavy fuel oil generator sets and Marine heavy fuel oil generator sets.
■ Crude oil Generator Sets, including Stationary crude oil generator sets and Marine crude oil generator sets.
■ Liquid Biofuels Generator Sets, including Biodiesel generator sets, Hydrogenated vegetable oil generator sets, and Biomass pyrolysis oil generator sets.
■ Pyrolysis Oil Generator Sets, including Tire pyrolysis oil generator sets, Plastic pyrolysis oil generator sets, etc.
2. According to the different engine speeds, the engine generator sets can be divided into three categories:
■ High-speed Generator Gets, It refers to a generator set with an internal combustion engine speed n ≥ 1000 r/min. It is a small bore, four stroke generator set. The single set capacity is generally below 3MW. It has small size, light weight, flexible and fast start stop, and low investment cost. Mainly used as an emergency backup generator set.
■ Medium-speed Generator Gets, It refers to a generator set with an engine speed between 300 ≤ n < 1000 r/min. It is a medium-sized cylinder bore, four stroke generator set. The single set capacity reaches over 20 MW. Medium speed generator sets are widely used in scenarios that require extremely high reliability of power supply, such as peak shaving power stations, remote mining areas, oil fields, outdoor infrastructure projects, disaster rescue sites, data centers, etc.
■ Low-speed Generator Gets, It refers to a generator set with an engine speed n < 300 r/min. It is a large bore, two-stroke generator set. The single set power reaches 30 - 80 MW. It has a long service life, low fuel consumption, large and heavy volume, and high investment cost. Mainly suitable for large independent power plants.
Characteristics of Medium Speed Liquid fuel Generator Sets:
1. Compared with high-speed gensets, the advantages of medium speed Liquid fuel generator sets:
● Durability (Low component wear, overhaul time of 60000 to 80000 hours);
● Reliability (Low failure rate, suitable for continuous operation);
● Economy (Fuel consumption as low as 185 g/kW.h, Low maintenance costs);
● High efficiency (Generation efficiency of over 45%).
2. The disadvantages are Large volume and heavy weight, relatively high one-time investment cost.
